Job Description



 

Turner & Townsend are looking for an experienced on site Senior Cost Manager to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana to support a large scale life sciences program. The ideal candidate has proven experience leading workstreams and has the desire to support the growth of our fast-paced business.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • The appropriately qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career as a Cost Manager working in corporate real estate sector programs including vertical campuses construction, large scale and multi-site construction logistics and coordination and have experience leading a cost management team.   
  • Candidate must demonstrate they are capable of working with and managing multiple stakeholders across all construction/design and engineering disciplines.   
  • Candidate must have extensive knowledge working on programs along with project management, cost and commercial management, controls and oversight major capital programs while working in occupied buildings. 
  • Support the day-to-day operational management duties of the PM team. As part of the leadership team, you will be required to support the achievement of our strategic goals. 
  • Act as or support the commission leads on our programs including managing client relations and commercial contractual arrangements. 
  • Support the development of program processes and systems that enable efficient data collection, management, and benchmarking. 
  • Lead and motivates others to deliver excellent client service. 
  • Lead the set-up, delivery and close out in accordance with the requirements of the role. 
  • Support business development activities with new and existing clients, including bid writing. 
  • Understanding, identifying, and developing cross-divisional ideas into value opportunities. 

Qualifications



 

  • Prior cost management experience, preferable project controls or quantity surveying
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and a full program management office (PMO) 
  • Preferably prior life sciences market sector experience
  • Experience with creating and working with owner processes and reporting requirements. 
  • Experience with the review of contract documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and scope changes. 
  • Understanding of Owner’s Operations and best practices. 
  • Understanding of Safety Programs (Health, Safety, and Emergency Response). 
  • Understanding the monitoring and Inspection of Construction and Project Coordination. 
  • Completing comprehensive Monthly Reports to client.

  • Coordinating all stakeholders. 
  • Managing program controls, field operations, and sub consultants. 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills. 
  • Attention to detail in service delivery, communications, and ways of working with others. 
  • Excellent analytic and communication skills. 
  • Commercial awareness including the ability to articulate business decisions within the wider context and market trends. 
  • Confident leading alone and working as part of a team, with ability to be flexible according to the needs of the program. 
  • A desire to grow and develop roles into more senior opportunities. 
  • Business development experience, in the context of identifying opportunities with existing as well as new clients. 
  • Competent user of data management software (for example Excel) and systems for data cleansing, management, analytics, and quality assurance. 
  • Possess an approach to working that covers delivery of tasks and effective stakeholder engagement. 
  • Leadership experience in the conception, development and implementation of large programs would be beneficial. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or relatable field.
