InfuSystem is a growing healthcare company that provides infusion pumps and related products and services for patients in hospitals, clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and other major service centers, serving all fifty states and Canada. SUMMARY: In this role, the Senior Director of Purchasing will be an integral team member of the operations department and will have responsibility for a centralized purchasing function. They will lead a team responsible for both direct and indirect materials. This position will be responsible for directing and leading purchasing and supply management activities, as well as coaching and guiding team members in building end to end purchasing strategies. This position ensures compliance to strategic sourcing process to optimize and leverage spend. This position will also be responsible for delivering financial and negotiated savings targets, innovation, and continuous improvement in total cost of ownership year over year, while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels. Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Establishes a centralized purchasing strategy across functions that ensures a consistent supply of goods and services, reduces duplication of purchases, and uses bulk purchasing power to secure price discounts.
  • In collaboration with the executive leadership team, establishes purchasing budgets and aligns departmental strategy and direction with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Responsible for overseeing the development of key vendor relationship leads to understand organizational sourcing needs.
  • Responsible for leading strategic sourcing for key spend categories across the company.
  • Lead negotiation efforts and govern purchase agreements and vendor contracts with a bias for achievement of quality, delivery, cost containment and process improvement. Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to reduce purchasing costs.
  • Establishes procurement practices and policies to provide visibility, appropriate controls, and enables higher quality purchasing decisions. Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact across the company.
  • Leader of procurement & sourcing team, establishing standard methodologies and development approach for the team and other teams across business units and functions. Responsible for hiring, development and retention of the team.
  • Provide future state thought-leadership on operational procure-to-pay processes as well as an understanding of their impacts.
  • Sets goals and identifies metrics measuring performance of purchasing processes.
  • Develop and maintain systematic, analytical, and results-based method for monitoring supplier’s performance and communicate these results to the suppliers and end users.
  • Provide timely and actionable information for corrective actions to be taken where necessary to both the supplier and end users. Develop and utilize benchmarks and scorecards to be used for continuous improvement; creation and improvement of best-practice based processes and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive management experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain Operations.
  • At least 5+ years’ strategic sourcing and indirect spend/logistics experience supporting a multi-state matrix organization. Proven history of initiating and conducting cost reduction/productivity improvement programs. Must be a problem solver.
  • Team leadership and Strategic Sourcing direction setting experience.
  • Proven negotiating skills with Project Leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS and COSO internal control framework.
  • Professional certification in procurement, sourcing, supply chain is desirable.
  • Ability to make strategic buying recommendations and take appropriate action.
  • Great attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a team based corporate culture. Demonstrated strength working cross functionally to drive issue resolution.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications, listening and presentation skills.
  • A progressive, initiative-taking approach that is eager to embrace technology and modern management principles.
  • Experience in dealing with manufacturers and distributors.
  • Experience providing purchasing support to executive clients.
  • Must possess the ability to influence the value of the function and to run Purchasing as a services business like any other well-run professional services business.
  • Working knowledge of contract administration.
  • Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, risk management, etc.
  • Experience with a P&L business unit or division management.
  • Experience with ERP & ERP implementation experience a plus.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in an environment with large volumes of data.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to travel.
