Department Information

Following an organizational alignment in 2022, Georgia Tech established the Division of Lifetime Learning aligning the Center for 21st Century Universities (C21U), the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC), and Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE). The newly established Division of Lifetime Learning will provide education and research for new techniques, and technologies for education.The division provides accessible, affordable, achievable education for learners at any stage of life. The newly established division is part of the expansion of Georgia Tech's ecosystem for lifetime learning. Furthermore, the division is going through a formal process of faculty and university system governance to become Georgia Tech's seventh college.

Sr Director Business Ops

We are seeking a Sr Director Business Ops to serve as the primary leader for the administrative functions within the Division of Lifetime Learning .The key deliverables for the role are to provide management and organization for the Accounting, Business Operations, Facilities, Finance, HR, IT Services, Logistics teams, including compliance activities.This critical leadership role requires organization, communication, and collaboration with stakeholders in various areas and levels both within the division and across Georgia Tech. This role will help guide strategy across the division as well as report progress towards the goals.The individual in this role will need strong financial,communicative, and legal operational expertise.

This role will require 10-25% travel.

The position reports to the Dean of the Division of Lifetime Learning . Job Summary

Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing two or more of the following functions for a respective college or business unit: Accounting, Business Operations, Facilities, Finance, IT Services, Logistics, Marketing, etc. Responsible for setting employee and/or group goals, deciding on organizational structure to meet the goals, assessing employee and/or group performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Institute leadership, unit management, and external stakeholders. This position typically will advise and counsel: Institute leadership, unit management, faculty, and staff. This position will supervise: Assigned staff. Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Lead, manage, and improve the daily operational activities of the assigned functional areas and their functions. Lead the development and implementation of plans, policies, and strategies in support of business objectives. Make strategic decisions based on company goals and objectives. Job Duty 2 -
Develop guidelines, processes, and procedures for assigned functional areas through subordinate directors. Ensure financial and administrative policy compliance. Job Duty 3 -
Create and support new and existing business development opportunities and develop and support licensing/contractual opportunities for programs. Job Duty 4 -
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for new opportunities and existing activities. Job Duty 5 -
Develop budgets and manage budget tracking and forecasting. Job Duty 6 -
Organize, plan, and ensure data integrity to enable data-driven business decisions. Job Duty 7 -
Collaborate with internal stakeholders in support of growth initiatives. Identify and remove barriers for continued growth, including policy development within and beyond the unit. Job Duty 8 -
Develop operational plans for facilities that support the unit.

Job Duty 9 -
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop, support, and execute licensing and contracting opportunities for unit. Job Duty 10 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Experience
Twelve or more years of job-related experience Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

ABILITIES
o Strong ability to manage and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations.

o Application of statistics, budgeting, financial/data/trend analysis, project management, quality
management, and analytics development
o Ability to engage in strategic planning, and develop and implement plans to achieve strategy

o Extensive work experience in a university setting
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all
levels of the organization
o Working knowledge of office and specialized computer applications, database systems, and data
visualization tools. Proficient with Microsoft Office products including use of pivot tables in Microsoft
Excel.
o Business acumen for planning, developing, monitoring, managing, and presenting enrollments,
activities, financial position and budgets, key metrics, and other tracked measures.
o Expert in analytical thinking, people management, customer service, organization, strong attention
to detail, interpersonal relationship building, problem-solving, and creativity skills. Advanced
