GIG Cares Support Program Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Cares Support Program Coordinator oversees two key initiatives:

1. The Cutting Costs food insecurity program and the gluten-free subscription box program. This role is central to GIG Cares' efforts to provide support and resources to individuals facing gluten-related challenges, through strategic planning, program management, stakeholder engagement, and effective operations management.

2. Additionally, this role facilitates GFCO internal product testing, coordinating internal product surveillance and consumer complaint testing, and the distribution of proficiency testing samples to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Strategically manage and expand the gluten-free subscription box program, including selection of products, inventory management, and coordination with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery to subscribers.
  • Manage small warehouse operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and general warehouse upkeep.
  • Lead the Cutting Costs food insecurity program, overseeing all aspects from participant outreach and enrollment, monthly box composition, and coordination of food distribution and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate volunteer activities related to and including the packing and distribution of boxes, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective volunteer engagement.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with vendors, suppliers, and community partners to support program goals.
  • Identify opportunities for program improvement and expansion, based on participant feedback and market research, to better serve the gluten-free community.
  • Maintain warehouse practices to preserve food integrity and safety with FIFO practices.
  • Oversee the surveillance testing and shipment of PT products, ensuring compliance with GFCO testing requirements and timely delivery of PT orders.
  • Use project management tools to effectively track program progress, manage budgets, and report outcomes to the GIG Cares leadership and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of operations.
  • Management may assign other duties.

Cares Support Program Coordinator

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, social services, or a related

field.

  • Proven experience in program coordination, preferably in nonprofit or community service

organizations, with a focus on food insecurity, nutrition, or health-related initiatives.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage

multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Familiarity with inventory management, logistics, volunteer coordination, and stakeholder

engagement practices.

  • Competence in using project management software and tools, with a preference for candidates

experienced in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

  • Proven customer service excellence.
  • Able to operate as an effective strategic thinker.
  • Agile. Can quickly adapt to new/changing situations.
  • Ability to work as a positive team member, able to take and receive constructive input. The

organization and team success are more important than individual recognition.
