The Opportunity
Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking a skilled individual for our Continuous Improvement Technician position at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. The Continues Improvement Technician studies existing processes and looks for ways to increase efficiency and productivity while ensuring quality and safety protocols are met. This role will support various areas of production such as Assembly, Fabrication, Materials and Engineering. This role will educate employees on Continuous Improvement/Kaizen principles and practices in order to drive process improvements. Daikin Texas Technology Park- has a footprint of 4.23 million square feet under a single roof, and is the third largest factory in the United States. Opened in 2017 as the manufacturing, logistics, and engineering center for Daikin's American subsidiary Goodman, the plant makes heating and air conditioning products sold under the Goodman, Amana, and Daikin brands.

May include:
- Implementation of Lean projects, including: application of lean tools to eliminate waste, workstation design, mock trials, fabrication, plant organizing, markings and labels, time studies, documentation, presentations.
- Assist in the development of SOP’s specifically focused on plant manufacturing processes by utilizing time studies, spaghetti charts, material classification, PFEP, and visual management methods.
- Develop and implement visual controls and signage in the plant to reinforce processes, provide metrics, and improve material flow.
- Work with selected plant management on how to develop Lean mindset and Lean oriented processes to improve efficiency and standardize work.
- Partner with plant assembly line staff to collect observations, ideas, and solutions.
- Lead participants of Kaizen workshops, training sessions, committee projects, etc.
- Educate, coach, and challenge process owners in the use of lean and statistical tools, approaches and techniques to create process management and measurement systems.
- Drive safety, quality and efficiency measures through proactive problem resolution, follow-up and follow-through.
- Perform additional duties as needed

- Working knowledge of MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- Knowledge of assembly manufacturing operations

- Demonstrated knowledge of plant systems, equipment, and operations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Strong team player, results orientated, dedication to excellence and sense of urgency to achieve business objectives
- Ability to apply good judgement, effective decision-making skills, strong work ethics and integrity on the job
- Serve as team’s representative to other departments of organizations
- Learn and demonstrate effective project team leadership
- Effective organizational and time management skills
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in related role preferably within a high volume manufacturing environment
Education:
- Associates degree / Vocational training strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
