Job Summary
The Warehouse Night-Shift Supervisor is responsible for establishing and maintaining a smooth operation of the Warehouse by providing supervision to all warehouse teammates and maintaining a properly staffed and trained department to support the warehouse function.
Job Description
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Effectively enforce and comply with Client’s work and safety rules; coordinate the investigation of injuries, accidents, and unsafe conditions through the application of the company’s safety policies
- Perform the duties and maintain the ability to perform t he duties of subordinates as needed to maintain production standards
- Lead and motivate staff while maintaining a high level of professionalism; enforce company policies and issue disciplinary documentation to teammates as necessary
- Plan, assign, a nd direct work; address complaints and resolve problems; understand and effectively manage schedule requirements as the headcount changes week to week
- Perform quality assurance by visibly auditing departments during the shift
- Oversee training of new hires and existing teammates to ensure an efficient and knowledgeable work force
- Ensure the team continually meets assigned production standards
- Complete all assigned reports and associate incentives on a weekly basis
- Ensure that all transfers and routes leave o n time
- Facilitate communication throughout management and teammates
- Work with Transportation Manager to resolve issues between the warehouse and transportation
- Communicate with Logistics, Operations Managers, and Sales Force on any issues pertaining to inv oicing or a customer’s delivery
Skills Required
- 3+ years’ related management experience and 5+ years’ warehouse experience
- Solid communication skills
- Ability to problem solve
- High sense of urgency
- Experience managing large warehouse staffs with a background in hiring, training, motivating, and resolving employee relations issues
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and teammates
- Familiar with warehouse/computer software; including handheld scanners
- Ability to obtain Client power equipment and forklift certification; training provided
- Possess strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Full, basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Scheduling experience preferred
Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or equivalent experience a plus
Additional Requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Warehouse environment with variable temperatures/outdoor weather conditions, exposure to noise and vibrations from forklifts/other equipment; will work near moving mechanical parts, such as lifts
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
- Continuously required to stand and/or walk; use hands to lift and pull; reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Able to hear and speak into telephone
- Close visual work on a computer terminal
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments

- Starting at $58,000 annually
