Job Description - DC Power Engineer

We're seeking a passionate and experienced DC Power Equipment Engineer to join our team and play a key role in developing specifications for the installation of DC power equipment into Central Offices.

Position Overview:

As a DC Power Equipment Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our operations, working closely with customer representatives, performing site surveys, and creating price quotes. You'll be responsible for writing installation specifications, detailing material requirements, and providing engineering field support to ensure the successful implementation of DC power equipment.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Interface with customer representatives to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive site surveys to assess installation requirements and constraints.
  • Create accurate and competitive price quotes for proposed projects.
  • Write detailed installation specifications to guide the implementation process.
  • Identify material requirements and perform cost analysis to ensure project feasibility.
  • Provide ongoing engineering field support to address any challenges or issues that may arise during installation.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant DC power plant engineering experience in a Central Office environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency with various original equipment manufacturers (e.g., GE, Eltek) and battery types (e.g., flooded, VRLA).
  • Familiarity with customer standards, particularly AT&T and Verizon, and experience with customer databases.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong PC skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to travel regionally as needed.
