Primary Purpose of Position:
•    The Demand Planner Staff will operate the monthly demand planning process (including the development of statistical models, modeling/capture of assumptions, maintaining the forecast at the material/customer group-level and facilitating consensus meetings with Sales/Marketing. 
•    This position will drive improved forecast accuracy by using metrics, researching root cause for forecast error and developing solutions to address root causes. This position also owns the baseline forecast, identifies areas of opportunity to improve the machine learning models, and works with the data scientists to continuously improve forecasting model.
•    The incumbent will support Sales and Marketing teams with data/analysis to increase their effectiveness in building a sales forecast for their business segments. He/She will communicate opportunities/risks to delivering the sales plan and identify current/future trends/potential implications to the future demand signal.
•    This role will ideate, own and drive projects/initiatives in the demand planning process, reporting that helps improve the accuracy of demand signals, accessibility/ease of identifying trends and enhancement to the tools used by the team. In addition, the associate will develop/implement changes to improve the efficiency/effectiveness of the forecasting process/systems.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Perform statistical analysis and gather all appropriate inputs from various groups (Sales, Marketing, Categories, Finance, Planning and Manufacturing).
•    Own/Operate the monthly sales forecast consensus process. Facilitate resolution of forecast discrepancies between Categories, Channels and Brands. Lead the consensus meeting and facilitate conflict resolution.
•    Generate forecast accuracy/performance metrics at various levels of aggregation. Investigate root causes of forecast error and develops preventive/corrective measures.
•    Adjust forecast models (as appropriate) to reflect the expected impact of industry share/economic trends, competitive issues/trends, marketing plans/events/overrides, pricing/product strategies, sales plans/incentives, new product phase-in and old product phase-out.
•    Initiate/Drive process and system improvements to increase the efficiency/effectiveness of the demand planning process.

Education:
•    Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics or a related field

Experience:
•    3 or more years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Forecasting or a related field
•    Demand planning modeling experience highly preferred

Skills :
•    Ability to manage complex data, infer trends and spot patterns  
•    Understand the S&OP process, forecasting concepts, models, statistical techniques, market customer, end-users and business models 
•     Well-developed communication skills (verbal/written) 
•     Excellent project and time-management skills 
•    Ability to work with remote teams in an effective manner
