Role Overview: As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of complex electrical equipment and circuits within various plant departments, the powerhouse, and offices. Your work will involve special automatic controls, electronic controls, recording instruments, generating equipment, and large switchboards. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Installation and Maintenance:
  • Plan, layout, and perform all operations related to installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical equipment and circuits.
  • Install units, including the fabrication of brackets, braces, and hangers, ensuring secure and permanent setups.
  • Maintain and repair electric and electronic controls and recording devices, including necessary cleaning, adjusting, and checking of tubes and circuitry.
  • Install and maintain all types of electrical transmission lines, motors, generators, and distribution equipment, including high tension lines.
    
    
• Repair and Troubleshooting:
  • Tear down complicated units, diagnose the extent of issues, repair or replace defective parts or wiring, and reassemble units.
  • Repair or replace defective armatures and field coils; wind armatures and field coils.
  • Make connections on shunt and compound wound DC motors and synchronous squirrel-cage and induction AC motors.
  • Diagnose and remedy unusual troubles, ensuring all defective materials or faulty operations are reported and corrected.
    
    
• Technical Work:
  • Obtain field data and make corrections to variable and constant speed motors, calculating Ohmic resistance as needed.
  • Install and wire motors for large machine tools, involving intricate controls with multiple interlocking and safety devices.
  • Work from schematic drawings, manuals, and testing procedures.
  • Prepare wiring diagrams as necessary for facilitating work and maintaining accurate records.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Journeyman status or a minimum of three (3) years of documented maintenance experience in the electrical trade.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship, both now and in the future.
• No relocation benefits offered; only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse, NY will be considered (Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from this geographical limitation).

Skills and Certifications:

• Experience in manufacturing settings.
• Proven electrician skills and expertise in handling complex electrical systems.
