Job Description:

Reporting to the Associate Director, Finance, the CMSC Finance Analyst is a key member of Vertex’s Financial Planning & Analysis organization. This role will help support our monthly and quarterly close processes as well as supporting the long range plan, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals and SOX testing, partnering closely with Accounting and Internal Audit teams to ensure process controls are evidenced and working.
  • Support OPEX & COGS flux analysis and commentary to satisfy internal/external business reviews, audit requests and SEC filings.
  • Prepares cash-flow forecasts and other deliverables for key internal customers, including corporate finance, Tax, Insurance and Statutory Accounting.
  • Support annual budget and monthly forecast
  • Supports the annual budget and monthly forecasting processes by partnering with finance colleagues on reporting of actual results against budget, prior forecasts and historical performance.
  • Supports the Long-Range Plan process including data consolidation, scenario modeling and preparation of presentation materials.
  • Additional Ad Hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large amounts of data with an ability to create ad hoc reports or analytics independently.
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint; Experience with Hyperion (or another multidimensional database), business intelligence or visualization tools a plus.
  • Strong judgment and professionalism required.
  • Intellectual curiosity to develop a deep understanding of business issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and an eagerness to collaborate with colleagues (within or outside of finance) in sharing insights and learnings.
  • Must be able to work well with senior leaders, peers and junior team members.
  • Global experience, including working with foreign exchange rates, a plus.
  • Possesses a continuous improvement mindset with the flexibility to adapt to change.
  • Bachelors Degree with 1 year experience


Pay Range:

$33 - $40/HR
