Inventory Control Specialist Inventory Control Specialist Typical Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develops and implements procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present
- Identifies and optimizes common inventory items
- Investigate inventory shortages and discrepancies
- Comes up with ways to dispose of or sell obsolete items in the inventory
- Work with other teams including sales, shipping and purchasing
- Instruct other employees in cycle counting and inventory control
- Follows all existing company policies and procedures
- Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner
- Audits the facility's entire inventory on a regular basis and provides reports to management
- Files claims with manufacturers or sellers when defective goods are found in the inventory
- Keeps up with changing technologies such as computer software in order to remain valuable to his or her employer
Inventory Control Specialist Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalant
- 1+ years of cycle counting
- PIE experience preferred
Inventory Control Specialist Skills and Specifications:
- Competent verbal and written communication skills
- Competent addition and subtraction math skills
- Competent literacy skills to read orders and labels without transposing parts numbers
Inventory Control Specialist Physical Qualifications:
- Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching
- Walking and/or standing up to 10 hours per day, 6 days per week if applicable
- Repetitive grasping and twisting with hands
- Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
- Ability to occasionally climb stairs to retrieve stock items
