LAB Technician III

Volt is immediately hiring for a Lab Tech III in Cottage Grove, MN with a well-known industry leader. In this role you work a rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts, including some overnights. 6am - 6pm three days on, three days off. 6am - 6pm two days on, two days off. Then switch to 6pm - 6am two days on, two days off, 6pm - 6am three days on, three days off for an example.
This is a rotating shift schedule.
As a Lab Tech III you will:

• Run analytical chemistry test methods on a variety of equipment in service to both a pilot development facility and a chemical factory.
• Preferred skills in working with gas chromatographs, high performance liquid chromatographs, rheometers, viscometers, infrared spectrometers (both near- and mid-IR), UV-visible spectrometers, inductively-coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy, ion-selective electrodes including pH probes, automatic titration systems, Karl Fisher titration systems, ovens, furnaces, analytical balances, and X-ray fluorescence analyzers.
• Report results using both written and electronic systems of record. Hold products or release products for shipment based on results.
• Help with execution and validation of test methods for material being run in the pilot development facility.
• Follow laboratory and department standard operating procedures stored in a document management system.
• Follow all applicable EHS rules and regulations while in the laboratory.
• Inspect and validate that incoming raw material certificates of analysis are acceptable; run occasional analytical tests on these RMs to validate other parameters of interest.

This is a full time contingent opportunity.
Estimated Duration 24+ months.
The ideal candidate will have:
Associate’s or Higher with combined experience in laboratory, pilot plant, or manufacturing facility in a private, public, government, or military environment
Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry, physics, biology, or related fields
• One year of experience in a quality control laboratory setting, preferably in manufacturing
• Strong math and science skills
• Experience in systems for the reporting of data in laboratory settings
• Experience with the Microsoft 365 software platform, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams

Pay Rate: $37.00-38.00 hr. *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
