Job Description - Maintenance Specialist - Urgent Role

The Position

As a Technical Maintenance Specialist you will:

  • Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in Facilities/Utilities.

  • Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings. 

  • Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. 

  • Rebuilds Facilities/Utilities equipment as required. 

  • Performs equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineers. 

  • May use predictive maintenance technologies and techniques in order to improve operational efficiencies.

  • Applies advanced knowledge and skills to complete assignments requiring judgement and initiative.

  • Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.

  • Receives little instruction on daily assignments and may determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

Your key responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.

  • Performs troubleshooting to determine problems and may be required to do corrective maintenance on a variety of HVAC, electrical, and refrigeration systems

  • Completes preventative maintenance tasks according to detailed procedures and schedules. Will provide emergency call-in support for operations that run during off-hours and weekends. Maintains accurate records of all activities

  • Performs equipment modifications, including installation, validation support and start-up, of new equipment as well as decommissioning activities

Who you are?
Minimum qualifications:

  • Trade school certification, Associates Degree, or equivalent military experience

  • 7 years related maintenance experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5+ experience documented troubleshooting and repairing the following types of systems: HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic in an operations or manufacturing setting

  • Proficient in Google Office Suite: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Email, Calendar

  • Medical device manufacturing or operations experience

  • Experience with Precision Maintenance practices

  • Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GDP (Good Documentation Practices)

  • Experience with HVAC systems (rooftop units, air handling units, VAVs, fan coil units, electric and gas heaters).

  • Experience with chilled water systems (ammonia screw chillers, ammonia and pumps)

  • Extensive knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical and controls troubleshooting

  • Experience with boilers and hot water systems (gas and electric boilers).

  • Experience with refrigeration (stand-alone refrigerator/freezers, walk in coolers and freezers, CO2 refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration)

  • Experience with Building Automation systems
