As the Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety, EHS, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Organize, plan, promote and implement all elements of the Environmental, Health and Safety program. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations. Ensure good explosives and construction safety practices are being followed. Responsible for training, enforcement, and auditing of EHS programs.
  • Prepare, approve and implement comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety procedures in accordance with Federal and Army regulations with particular emphasis on explosives safety, industrial hygiene, hazardous waste, NEPA and radiation protective programs.
  • Direct and coordinate all phases of the Environmental, Health and Safety Programs that provides a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel at the facility.
  • Review and analyze new proposal that require comments from the Environmental, Health and Safety Department. Review changes in Standard Operating Procedures, Engineering Orders, Drawings, Safety Proposals and Suggestions along with equipment, new construction, and equipment modifications.
  • Develop schedules to ensure requirements are completed relative Environmental, Health and Safety. Maintains updated regulations and standards related to EHS and safe work practices (e.g. OSHA, EPA, DOT, DOD and ANSI standards).
  • Conduct accident investigations that involve a cross-functional team to determine root cause and corrective actions that will reduce or eliminate recurrence of incident.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Understand how to communicate with impact - clearly and consistently gets information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Thorough knowledge of recordkeeping requirements, both safety and environmental records.
  • Able to evaluate practices, procedures, programs, attitudes, and awareness to recommend methods of improvement respective to Environmental, Health and Safety.
  • Proven decision making and problem-solving skills. Results oriented. Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work and influence in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable Army Environmental/Safety Regulations and OSHA, EPA and DOT Regulations. CHMM certification, Certified Safety Professional, TSDF experience preferred.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Environmental, Safety and Health or related field.
  • 8 years of related experience preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Explosives Safety, ISO 14001 experience preferred.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.


In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $75,120 - $ 112,680. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).

  • Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g. extreme heat or cold, grass, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, extreme noise, etc.)
