Job Summary

To manage the Inspection Engineering team in order to ensure technical integrity and technical risks management in accordance with Sabic, state, and federal standards and requirements. Oversee MI inspection contractor resources to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of our MI inspection scope.

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Lead your MI engineering team and MI contractor resources to improve plant mechanical integrity as per Sabic standards, Code, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with your team to develop ways to detect equipment degradation and develop effective plans for equipment retirement.
  • Support investigations on material and corrosion fields.
  • Support maintenance by providing all Non-Destructive Test (NDT) requirements.
  • Develop metrics and reporting tools to ensure completion of inspection activities and timely feedback to all concerned.
  • Ensure your team is consistently setting inspection frequencies based on experience & applicable standard.
  • Organize investigations and Failure analysis to determine the reason for failure & give suitable recommendations.
  • Ensure your team is reviewing Inspection Technical Reports and effectively addressing the findings.

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • 5-10 years experience in manufacturing related positions and preferably in Maintenance Management and Mechanical Integrity Management
  • Working knowledge of API standards (510, 570, 653)
  • Strong Leadership and Management Skills.
  • Excellent in planning, making decisions and analytical problem solving.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with leaders and employees across functions and different levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities and to adapt to changing requirements in a fast paced environment 
  • Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication in English is required.
  • Experience in using engineering drawings and system manuals.
  • Experience in SAP System and PSAIM preferred
  • General knowledge of chemical plant safety requirements and protocols.
  • Goal oriented of safe work practices and environmental safety requirements.
  • General knowledge on quality requirements for ISO and general management systems.
  • Willingness to travel 5-10%
  • Relocation provided

Physical Requirements: Mixture of sitting, standing, and walking throughout plant to process equipment, climbing fixed and portable ladders and entering vessels for inspection activities. Needs to comply with site regulations for PPE while in process areas. Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
