Manufacturing Engineer II

Achieve more with Volt! Volt is immediately hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer in Canton, GA . You will use your knowledge of manufacturing processes to increase plant efficiencies and meet, or exceed, goals related to safety, quality and production. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will:

• Plan, organize and implement systems and procedures that will enhance manufacturing production.
• Conduct cause and effect studies and implement corrective measures.
• Assess production processes to improve product consistency, standardize work procedures, flow, etc.
• Implement Lean concepts throughout the plant including 5S, Visual Work, Kanban, etc.
• Create and manage training programs for production employees.
• Ensure all aspects of new product introduction and changes to existing products are properly communicated to stakeholders.
• Interface with various departments in coordinating technical information relating to specific projects.
• Manage capital equipment projects, including identifying equipment improvements and delivering on time and in budget.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have:

• BS degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical
• 6+ years of experience in a Manufacturing, Mechanical or industrial engineering role.
• Experience must include working with welding and fabrication processes.
• Must possess a working knowledge of computers, including MS Word, Excel, etc.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, ProE, with preferred experience in SolidWorks.
• ISO 14001, TS-16949 or IATF-15949 knowledge required.
• Experience with the following a plus: quality standards, capital equipment, procurement, FMEA, APQP.
• Understanding of factory metrics and Lean (Operational Excellence) at a minimum with Six Sigma experience, a plus
• Understanding of MIG/TIG/SAW/Laser/Plasma welding practices
