Job Description - Millwright

With locations in Pittsburgh PA and Kutztown PA,**McConway and Torley, LLC **has been in continuous operations since 1869, the same year the first US transcontinental railroad was completed. **McConway **has been able to meet the needs of our customers with a steady, dependable, and economical supply of high-quality coupler products. As the original designers of the first standard automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have led to a product line that includes every ARR-approved coupler as well as custom coupler solutions, which are all proudly cast in the US.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

What you’ll do:

  • Capable of servicing and repairing most common industrial equipment, such as grinders, forklifts, cranes, welders, lathes, etc.

  • Capable of performing routine maintenance operations on equipment, such as oil changes, greasing, adjustments and minor repairs.

  • Capable of performing routine electrical repairs and some troubleshooting of motor controls.

  • Capable of basic repairs of plumbing and heating systems.

  • Capable of fabricating hardware that may be required to support the maintenance operation.

  • Observe all company rules and regulations

  • Must be able to work on elevated platforms

  • Must be willing to flexible with assignments and shifts

  • Report any abnormal conditions to lead person or supervisor

  • Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned

What you’ll need:

  • 1 or more years of previous experience
  • High school diploma

Working Conditions:

  • Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
  • This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
  • Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant

  • Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to- Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc… as required
  • Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.

Starting pay based on experience.

  • Meets Physical Requirements
  • High School / GED
  • Excellent Communication Skills

  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Basic Computer Skills

Salary info:

$25 - $29 / hr
