Responsibilities

This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time.  The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

As a New Product Financial Analyst for John Deere Small Ag & Turf, working in Cary, NC, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the finance lead of cross-functional new product development teams
  • Provide insightful analyses and financial counsel to new product development teams in evaluating & presenting project proposals, ensuring achievement of minimum financial hurdles in support of the financial objectives of the company        
  • Execute Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Make vs. Buy, and Lease vs. Purchase analyses in support of new product development capital and research & development investment and sourcing decisions

  • Experience with financial analysis, including financial modeling and the discounted cash flow process
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders (within and outside of Finance) at various levels of an organization
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation preparation skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and confidence in the ability to problem solve with minimal supervision
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn more about the products, customers, and markets
  • Flexibility to adjust priorities to accommodate the most critical objectives and act confidently in challenging situations
  • Demonstrated a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated capability to understand details, evaluate data, and provide insight/counsel to others

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Financial modeling experience for a manufacturing, financial, or technology company
  • Experience with cost accounting and product cost structure/BOM
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely complex and/or difficult concepts to internal and external stakeholders 
  • Driving efficiency through process improvement – automating processes and reports, etc.
  • Experience and conceptual understanding of the annual cycle and strategic planning activities
  • Understanding of descriptive statistics and prior use of simulation tools (Crystal Ball, @Risk, etc.)
  • MBA, CMA or CGMA

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
