Essential Functions for End Cutter Duties:

• Monitor the operation of the End cutter and control the flow of onions on the incline conveyor.

• Place onions in every pocket on the flight chain that feeds the End cutter. The normal operating range is 45 to 65 onions per minute.
• Ensure that each onion is straight with the root end facing the preparer as it enters the End cutter.

Essential Functions for Re-Peeling Duties:

• Remove loose debris from the onions and ensure that the cut ends are lying flat on the belt.
• Blow off brown skins that are still attached to the onions by using compressed air.
• Monitor the infeed and the slicer infeed conveyors to ensure consistent onion flow and adjust conveyor speeds and guides to prevent gaps and jams.

• Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Additional Job Duties:

• Follow Lock Out /Tag Out, Job Safety Analysis, and all other safety policies and procedures.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Rules and practices.
• Keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition in compliance with 5S.
• Rotate between end-cutter and re-peeling station every 30 minutes.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, line leads, and maintenance as necessary when problems arise.
• Actively participate on problem-solving teams and complete projects as assigned.
• Maintain acceptable attendance as defined by the employee handbook.

The noise level in the work environment required hearing protection to be worn at all times.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED:

Smock, Gloves, Hairnet, Sleeves, Waterproof Suit, Ear Plugs, Protective Toe Shoes, Goggles (when needed) or as determined by SDS sheets for chemicals.
