Press Operator - st Shift

Press Operator - 1st Shift - $24-$28/hr - Montgomery, AL - 5am-3:30pm Monday through Thursday & Overtime on Friday - Permanent Position - Excellent Benefits Must have: 

• 1 year experience metal stamping

• Fundamentals - calipers, measuring tools experience reading, digital or analog, Metric

• Forklift experience preferred but will train and certify right candidate

Job Summary
The Stamping Associate will be responsible for the operation of stamping presses in a safe and appropriate manner and follow all IATF 16949:2016 requirements. He / She must always perform safety checks of equipment and clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by SAS sheet, policies and procedures. Due to the hazards associated with operating heavy equipment, this position places special prohibitions on working while under the influence of drugs and the use of handheld devices such as cellular phones, etc. The Stamping Associate is also responsible for producing quality parts safely at an efficient rate.

Job Duties

• Performs safety inspection at the start of each shift and report all safety issues to your Lead Hand, Supervisor, and Manager or JHSC member.

• Ensures and abides by Lockout procedures at all times including using Ram block at all times when press is being cleaned or repaired.

• Adhere to Forklift Pedestrian guidelines at all times.

• Operate on/off switch.

• Responsible to ensure that all safety and quality start up procedures are followed at all times.

• Responsible to perform all quality checks utilizing gauges and other measuring devices as required in the control plan.

• Responsible for following work instructions and in process sheets accurately at all times.

• Responsible for following QSP 9.2 First off & last off policy at all times.

• Responsible for following QSP 13.0 Control of Non-Conforming Product policy at all times.

• Responsible to produce quality parts according to customer specifications.

• Maintain / produces a level of output that will minimize production delays.

• Responsible for packing parts as required.

• Completes shift assignment sheet accurately and timely to indicate achieved productivity.

• Responsible for ensuring your work areas are cleaned at all times and 5S tools are returned to its correct location.

• Responsible for ensuring floor around work area is kept cleaned at all times and free from oil and other tripping hazards.

• Participates in all areas of lean manufacturing.

• Able to maintain a clean and safe workplace at all times.

• Supports production in all areas including welding.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months to one (1) years' experience as a Stamping Associate.

• Grade 12 education

Work Conditions

• Exposed to loud noise

• Standing for long periods of time

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks

• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs

• May be exposed to hot / cold temperatures

• Able to work overtime as required
