Job Description - Product Engineering Manager

 

Job Summary:

 

You Will Drive innovation, oversee quality control, and optimize our manufacturing and fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will have a blend of hands-on experience in fabrication techniques, a keen eye for detail, a passion for ensuring end-to-end production efficiency, and strong project management skills. Will be responsible for making sure the final product assembly is robust without having to re-engineer parts during assembly processes.  You will review Product Designs in Solid-Works to review DFMA requirements and work with suppliers to ensure components meet requirements, and work with Root Cause Analysis to ensure robust processes. The role will be tasked with improving product quality while making product lighter in weight, strengthening components with innovative materials, reduce cost of final product while improving uptime, and warranty claims.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

  • Project Management: Manage projects related to manufacturing and process improvements, ensuring they are completed within budget, timelines, and quality objectives.

 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between production and engineering, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.

 

  • Production Management: Coordinate and manage production schedules for both assembly and fabrication processes, ensuring timely and efficient output.

 

  • Fabrication Expertise: Possess hands-on experience in fabrication processes, including bending, laser cutting, powder coating, and other related techniques.

 

  • Process Improvement: Critically evaluate assembly and fabrication processes, targeting efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.

 

Qualifications:

 

Experience: A minimum of 7 years in a Product Manager, Design Engineering Manager  or Manufacturing Engineering role, with hands-on experience in fabrication and DFMA or DFX

 

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in updating engineering drawings and models.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of assembly processes, quality control methodologies, and modern fabrication techniques.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and a strategic, continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative abilities.
  • Proficient in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
