Position Title: Purchasing Technician



Wage: $20 - $22/hour



Shift: 1st shift



Hours: 7am - 3pm Monday - Friday

Purchasing Technician Responsibilities:

• Monitors stock levels in the stockroom and runs daily cycle counts for the Stockroom Attendant to ensure our inventory is correct
• Orders operating supplies (KANBAN) that are kept in the stockroom and different areas throughout the plant. Items that need to be ordered will be provided by the other stockroom clerk
• Maintaining records such as purchase orders and contracts to ensure that they have correct pricing and delivery dates
• Following up with suppliers on past due items
• Maintains files of available supplies
• Set-up new part numbers in SAP requested by employee’s through our Access Database
• Assists Purchasing with entering requisitions for operating supplies and other employee requests
• Gets order approval for stock items ordered on a min. & max basis
• Assist the other Stockroom Attendant with daily duties if required
• Maintain a clean and organized environment this includes making sure parts are labeled correctly and in their proper place
• Evaluate stock ordering levels and make changes if needed as well as eliminating obsolete items
• Assisting employees with order inquiries
• Assist with obtaining quotes from suppliers
• Assists Purchasing with various projects and tasks as assigned
• Perform duties in a fast-paced environment
• Covers Plant Purchasing when out of the office
• Performs layered audits
• Completes duties and project directed by department manager
• Enters new products coming into the plant that require an SDS label into the SDS database
• Track shipments
• Enter new vendors into Zycus as well as submitting updates for existing vendors
• Investigate parked invoices, correct, if need be, and communicate to accounts payable the actions that should be take

Requirements for Purchasing Technician:

• Proven experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
