Position Summary


Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Shipping Clerk will arrange and coordinate all appointments for freight leaving the plant through designated Olam freight carriers and Customer arranged carriers, based on prearranged ship dates which correspond with Customers delivery windows. Using the SAP software, the Shipping Clerk record the deals of all shipments leaving the plant.


The ideal candidate will demonstrate accuracy at every step, all incoming and outgoing loads must have the proper paperwork filled out and processed accurately in a timely manner. The Shipping Clerk should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth and effective operations and report issues to management immediately.



Position Responsibilities

• Creation of shipping documents for all outbound truck loads
• Data entry for incoming raw material loads
• Data entry for production process orders
• Tracking of shipments and destinations using Excel spreadsheets
• Audit and File Trailer inspection report, Seal responsibility, driver sign-in logs, shipment documentation
• Responsible for communication (phone, fax, email) with staff at other plants, warehouses, and trucking company.
• Inventory management and reconciliation (to include rework transactions)
• Will work under the direction of the Production Manager and Plant Manager.
• Other duties as required.
• The specified personal protection equipment shall be worn at all times while working in designated areas. Example (work boots, gloves, eye protection, ear plugs etc.
• This position is not limited to those duties in the job description. Duties and responsibilities can be changed, expanded, reduced, or deleted to meet the business needs of the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required.
• Must have strong computer skills, experience with SAP preferred
• Must be accountable and reliable with a good work ethic.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must have basic math skills
• Must be well organized and detail oriented
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must be willing and able to work weekends
• Must be able to work overtime if needed
• Must be able to read, comprehend and work from verbal and written communications
• Good attendance and work record a must
• Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision
