Responsibilities
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts • Inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment • Perform routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear • Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings • Overhaul and test machines or equipment • Inspect and diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment • Inspect important parts for proper operating condition • Adjust brakes, align wheels, and reassemble equipment • Specialize in repairing and maintaining engine parts • Weld metal parts and repair broken or cracked parts • Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders • Follow established safety procedures • Handle and dispose of hazardous wastes • Train others in the job responsibilities
Requirements
• High school diploma, technical school, or apprenticeship • Experience using diagnostic software for troubleshooting • Experience using Microsoft Windows and Office • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance skills • Ability to read blueprints and schematics • Ability to work on a variety of equipment at various locations • Ability to work overtime as needed • Ability to read various measuring tools • Ability to travel domestically up to 5% of the time • Valid driver's license • Own hand tools
