Uni-Directional Textile Machine Operator

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating machines to consistently meet quality and production targets. Individuals in this role will work as part of a self-directed team with some supervision.  Responsibilities: 

• Startup, operation, clean up, and shut down of machines and other equipment

• Stage material through barcoding, labels, and maintains inventories during runs. 

• Customize basic equipment settings following customer and/or product requirements.  

• Visually inspects and follow test procedures to ensure product meets all specifications.

• Packages, labels and places finished products on skids, bands etc. ready for shipping.  

• Operates hoist and pallet jack and maintain daily inspections.  

• Use computer to access specifications and enter production and quality data

• Work with others to troubleshoot equipment and quality issues.

• Other duties as assigned, within the department and other areas of the plant. 

Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.  

• 1-2 years’ experience operating machinery in a manufacturing production environment.   

• Able to work 12-hour shift (4 shifts one week, 3 shifts following week with one weekend in each two week cycle)

• Ability to prioritize and manage time and priorities efficiently. 

• Good manual dexterity

• Able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions in English

• Basic math skills particularly as related to measurement.   

• Excellent attention to detail and safety. 

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
