Job Description - VP, Americas Manufacturing

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President, Americas Manufacturing, will be responsible for leading all Manufacturing Operations for our US-based locations, overseeing a network of manufacturing Centers of Excellence teams, leading manufacturing site leaders through transformation, continuous improvement efforts and DE+I initiatives.  This includes activities that involve manufacturing process excellence, process engineering and product/process transfer.  This position will be accountable for delivery performance in terms of build plan and on-time delivery, cost of goods financial performance, capital projects, maintaining regulatory compliance certifications, and internal & external continuous quality improvement programs across a diverse base of vertically integrated GeneXpert assay franchises.  

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and coordinates the activities of project(s) with responsibility for results in terms of timelines, cost objectives and process implementation.
  • Develops the US production capacity plan in partnership with Global Supply Chain and establish cross-functional standard work and procedures for maintaining product and company quality standards.
  • Active champion of continuous quality and productivity improvement efforts to deliver future organizational objectives.  Leads through Danaher Business Systems process excellence standard work.
  • Work on complex issues requiring multi-factorial analysis to deliver right outcome
  • Communicate the company vision and develops site culture through leading from the front with words and actions.
  • Collaborates effectively with Global Operations supply chain, manufacturing engineering and shared services functions.
  • Accountable for US manufacture operations budget development and compliance resource planning to meet production output and quality objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience (in years): 

  • Requires a minimum 20+ years of Operations and/or Technical Operations with Bachelor’s degree or 18+ years with Master’s degree
  • 10+ years as a leader of leaders

Knowledge and skills: 

  • An excellent track record in Manufacturing Operations in life sciences and in-vitro diagnostic regulated space with direct and relevant experience leading multiple 24/7 high throughput manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-growth, fast-paced global setting
  • Strong people leadership, a global mindset and strategic thinking are essential while ensuring execution on organizational objectives.  Comfortable with dealing with ambiguity
  • Requires highly-effective influencing, verbal and written communications skills, and demonstrated negotiating skills;
  • The demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational lines required

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: (Delete this section if not applicable)

  • Prior experience in life science /diagnostic/medical device and/or biopharmaceutical equipment and systems
  • Background in R&D or product transfer and failure analysis
