JOB POSTING – Development Associate

Organization: Right To Play USA

Department/Division: US National Office

Reports to: National Director

Work Location: New York preferred

Work Arrangement: A combination of in-office and remote-working in accordance with Right

To Play’s work arrangement and the operational needs of the

department

Authorized to Work in: US (Eligible to work legally without requiring sponsorship or work permit)

Target Hiring Range: 56,000 –60,000 USD per annum

Target Start Date: Immediately

Contract Duration: Permanent/Full-time

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive fundraiser to join our team! Right To Play's team includes 7 staff
members in the US, who are part of a broader network of global colleagues. The Development Associate

(DA) will join the US National Office (USNO), a small but growing cohort whose collective objective is to raise
awareness and critical resources for our country teams – primarily in fundraising, communications, and
partnerships – as Right To Play expands its work.

The DA will collaborate with fellow development team colleagues to support and/or manage systems that
support our fundraising strategy. Your responsibilities will include, managing donor inquiries, providing
operational support, maintaining donor information, conducting research, assisting with third party and

community level events, coordinating with team members and contributing to various projects as needed. The
ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage
multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

#1: Fundraising Support (55% of Time):

  • Contribute to the organization’s revenue goal, through the planning, creation, and promotion of monthly
giving and mass market campaigns; workplace giving and third party (marathon) and community events.
  • Assist with any event planning and scheduling
  • Support in CRM administration, including data entry, producing reports, and data clean-up
  • Prospect and donor research
  • Support National Director on Board Meeting and other logistics
  • Work closely with the development team to execute goals and plans; provide support and coordination
for annual and special fundraising campaigns, activities, and events, as needed

#2: Administrative Support (20% of Time):

  • Assist with the booking, tracking and logistics for quarterly Board meetings
  • Support Board communications and tracking
  • Assistance maintaining donor records and correspondence
  • Provide general administrative and donor relations assistance to the National Director

#3: Development Communications and Campaign Management (10% of Time):

  • Support the development team on the management and maintenance of key donor communications and
outreach, fundraising campaigns, newsletters, annual reports, etc.
  • Serve as first point of contact to general RTP inquiries (phone, email, website)

#4: Gift Processing and Stewardship (10%):

  • Support processing of gifts in partnership with finance staff; support the donor acknowledgment process

and stewardship efforts; partner with the finance team on gift reconciliation

WHAT YOU’LL BRING (ESSENTIAL):



EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years’ administrative and fundraising experience
  • Experience using fundraising CRM software platforms such as MissionCRM, Raiser's Edge, RE:NXT,
DonorPerfect, or Salesforce for donor management.



COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong and confident communication skills and an ability to build good working relationships with
colleagues
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills; display superior judgment and diplomatic
skills; ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders effectively
  • Ability to organize and plan own workload and work identifying conflicting demands
  • Makes decisions that improve day-to-day work procedures, practices and efficiency
  • Commitment to Right To Play’s mission, vision and strategic direction with the ability to serve as a
strong, compelling ambassador for the organization
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for managing and analyzing donor data, and
PowerPoint for creating presentations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills

LANGUAGES:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
