Job Description - Associate VP, Marketing Analytics

Having data driven insights is imperative to executing efficient and effective marketing strategies across all of Humana’s Business Segments.

Against that backdrop, we are seeking a talented leader to join our team as Associate Vice President, Marketing Analytics. In this role, you will lead the Marketing Analytics team in meeting the dynamic needs of Humana and CenterWell Marketing leaders while partnering with Marketing Platform and Data teams, Marketing Practices teams, enterprise data science teams, and enterprise technology leaders to enable data-driven strategies and analysis. You will also assess and determine the path forward to ensure the analytics practice is innovating and evolving with the pace of the industry, and continues to provide insights for competitive advantage in the marketplace. This will require defining and gaining buy-in for a future state vision as well as team support in continued growth and change.

Day to day, you will act as a strategic consultant to marketing leaders through understanding business challenges, defining the analytic approach, assessing the findings, and assisting in storytelling around those insights to ensure they are clear and actionable. This requires ability to see the big picture and deliver thorough, next-gen analytic solutions that help the business prioritize and maximize marketing investments across a full portfolio of initiatives. This is a highly visible and impactful position, requiring the ability to compose and present effective executive summaries of complex information. This role interacts with the VP of Marketing for each line of business, as well as senior business partners in finance, sales, product, etc.

The AVP , Marketing Analytics oversees 4 direct reports and a team of 24 FTEs + contractors. The position can be located anywhere in the lower 48 states.

Key Responsibilities

+ Provide of a clear strategic vision the continued evolution of the marketing analytics function that aligns with Humana and CenterWell marketing teams annual goals ensuring return on objectives.

+ Demonstrate thought leadership by championing scalable hypothesis driven analysis, rigorous test design and actionable insights and recommendations.

+ Present findings and strategic recommendations with clarity to senior marketing and line of business partners

+ Stand up and lead a team focused on strategic understanding of marketing data and storytelling and insight generation to support all marketing campaign analysis

+ Manage and prioritize requests from team members and cross functional partners and set realistic expectations. Transparently communicate about priorities on a regular basis.

+ Collaborate with MarTech Platform and Database teams to assure data processes are automated and efficient

+ Lead by example by emulating behaviors consistent with the new ways of working and Humana values

+ Consult on future state needs, help gain buy-in on infrastructure development, and define and sell in the business case for investment

+ Lead advancements in forecasting, modeling, rapid test and learn capabilities, campaign analysis including MTA , CMM , MMM , etc.

Key Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have extensive marketing analytics experience (typically 10+ years). This will include performance marketing analytics expertise and deep experience with setting marketing objectives, marketing measurement, experimental design, attribution, optimization of targeting and creative within and across marketing channels, setting marketing data requirements, and personalized marketing. Finally, s/he will have several years of marketing analytics team leadership experience, with proven success in expanding and elevating the capabilities and performance of the team.

In addition to the above, the following technical qualifications and personal attributes are also sought:

+ Proven experience applying quantitative disciplines in the consumer marketing arena; expertise with campaign analytics, A/B and multivariate testing, forecasting, MMM , MTA and marketing ROI optimization.

+ In-depth statistical/data science experience, project management experience and an ability to support multiple priorities

+ Expertise with advanced analytic and data science techniques and experience with R, Python, SAS or other statistical software

+ Ability to deliver executive level insights and presentations through storytelling

+ A record of success in attracting, developing, and motivating top talent from inside and outside of the organization, and preparing direct reports for expanded responsibilities

+ Experience in managing change by leading and energizing others, modeling adaptability, and inspiring strong organizational performance through periods of transformation, ambiguity, and complexity

+ Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company (i.e., Fortune 250), with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders in such an environment

+ Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences

+ Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs and win their co-ownership in the outcome

+ Experience in managing change by leading and energizing others, modeling adaptability, and inspiring strong organizational performance through periods of transformation, ambiguity, and complexity

+ Prior experience in health insurance or other regulated industries is a big plus.

+ Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in an analytical discipline such as statistics, mathematics, engineering, economics, etc., MBA or Masters in quantitative discipline preferred

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$204,400 – $281,000 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
