Anticipated start date will be after July 1, 2024. Position Summary:
The Clubs & Organizations Coordinator serves as the liaison between student clubs and organizations and the Student Affairs Division at the University of Puget Sound. The Coordinator serves as the main point of contact for student clubs and organizations for issues related to risk management, leadership training, budgeting, and other areas. The Coordinator provides advising and training to club leadership, assists clubs with improving continuity between academic years, and coordinates with Student Affairs leadership to provide support and resources necessary for a vibrant community of student organizations on campus. This is a full-time, live-in position. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Advise student clubs and organizations in a wide variety of areas
Coordinate risk management training for student clubs and oversee high-risk activities
Serve as the Dean of Students Designee to the Associated Students of the University of Puget Sound (ASUPS) Senate
- Regularly attend ASUPS Senate meetings
- Provide guidance to ASUPS Finance Committee during yearly club budgeting process
- Participate in the planning and implementation of Senate retreats
- Maintain a close working relationship with ASUPS leadership to support their role in recognizing new clubs and allocating club funding
Provide leadership training to student clubs and organizations
Provide budget training and a centralized location for resources on how clubs can access and utilize funds in accordance with guidelines
Assist student clubs with issues or questions about their allocated funding
Coordinate with the Director of Student Programs and ASUPS in the planning and management of campus-wide club promotion events such as LogJam (fall club fair) and the winter club fair
Work closely with faculty/staff advisors for student clubs and provide training and assistance where necessary
Communicate regularly with Student Affairs leadership (including the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Senior Associate
Dean of Students for Student Experience) on the current landscape of student clubs and organizations, issues of concern, and proposed ideas for improving university support of clubs
Coordinate the support and connection of identity-based clubs with the university's division of Institutional Equity and Diversity.
Provide support to students who are applying for club recognition through ASUPS
Advise club leadership in creating continuity plans to assist with longevity of clubs across academic years
Maintain a calendar of student club events throughout the academic year and assist clubs in effective scheduling
Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to incidents and emergencies providing appropriate referrals where necessary.

Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred, with preference toward higher education focus. Strong knowledge of college student development theory and demonstrated ability to apply theory to practice. Experience with or willingness to learn risk management best practices for a range of student clubs and organizations including club sports. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural communication and conflict management. Experience working with students in a higher education setting is strongly preferred. This person must be detail-oriented, cooperative, able to take direction and work independently, and able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have an ability to respectfully work, communicate, and support leadership within a diverse campus community. The candidate must be able to use a variety of online platforms such as the Google suite, Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Zoom software, and be willing and able to learn and train on new technology as it arises. Candidate must be able to explain and/or demonstrate that they possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. The anticipated range for this position is $18.67 to $19.71. Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
