Credit Analyst

Their dynamic team is dedicated to maintaining excellence in financial analysis and client service.  As a Credit Analyst, you will play a vital role in assessing the creditworthiness of borrowers and managing a portfolio of cash-flow loans. Your expertise in financial analysis and risk assessment will be instrumental in ensuring the stability and profitability of their lending activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the heart of Chicago's financial district, collaborating with a talented team to drive sound lending decisions and support our clients' financial goals.  Credit Analyst Responsibilities: 

• Conduct thorough credit analysis on potential borrowers, including reviewing financial statements and assessing compliance with loan agreements and internal policies 
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with borrowers, management teams and external lenders and investors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration 
• Prepare detailed credit reports and recommendations for internal review, highlighting key risks and opportunities 
• Perform financial due diligence, including company and industry research, cash flow modeling and data analysis to evaluate creditworthiness 
• Assist in preparing credit approval documents and present findings to relevant stakeholders 
• Monitor the performance of assigned loan portfolios, identifying potential issues and recommending appropriate actions 
• Stay informed about market dynamics and competitor activities to identify business opportunities and mitigate risks 

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or economics preferred 
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in credit analysis, commercial lending or related fields 
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial statement analysis and risk assessment 
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders 
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment 
• Collaborative team player with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail 
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and financial spreading software
