The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
JOID assists the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing leading edge technologies to counter WMD in support of CCMDs and transitioning these technologies to military services and COCOMs. SPA provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counter Improvised Threat and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations.
We have a near-term need for a CWMD Technical Analyst to provide onsite support in Lorton, VA.
The candidate will provide critical decision and analytic support to the Operations Department (OP) within the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). Will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) analytic support to the OP Integration acquisition portfolio. The portfolio is broadly focused on Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Science and Technology (S&T) but is looking to specifically concentrate in the areas of space (as it relates to CWMD) and future ways to support U.S. arms control policy. The candidate will support the client by rapidly immersing themselves into the latest technical areas of the acquisition portfolio supporting internal and external tasks. The candidate will apply a strong working knowledge and an understanding of various technology areas within DTRA to p rovide analytic support to DTRA program managers (PMs) in the day-to-day conduct and execution of projects through technical information gathering/reporting, technical progress tracking, and investigation of related project topics. Will c onduct research to support OPI’s overall technical direction of acquisition and utilizing knowledge/technical acumen to be able to make recommendations regarding that technical direction.
