Digital Asset Specialist
Department: Marketing and Communications
Reports To: Digital Content Marketing Manager
Job Summary:
The Digital Asset Specialist is responsible for the organization and management of the company's digital assets. This role involves uploading, downloading, reviewing, and editing assets, ensuring proper metadata and file formats. You'll collaborate with the content team to maintain a well-organized and accessible digital asset library (DAM).
Responsibilities:
- Digital Asset Management:
- Migrate assets to the DAM system accurately and efficiently.
- Participate in data cleansing and gap-filling processes for complex content.
- Perform digital asset lifecycle tasks like archiving and expiration.
- Receive and perform quality checks on digital assets to meet internal and client specifications.
- Implement and maintain consistent file naming conventions.
- Validate and update asset metadata before uploading to the DAM system.
- Organize assets within the established folder structure and recommend improvements.
- Publish assets to internal and external portals with proper access and adhering to project timelines.
- Maintain the DAM taxonomy, metadata schema, templates, and other standardization solutions.
- Ensure asset management practices follow digital accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.0).
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate daily with internal and external teams regarding project tasks and status.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Graduate/Equivalent
- Associate's Degree Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Information Management) a plus
- Experience:
- Less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Experience using a Digital Asset Management system.
- Skills:
- Experience with digital asset taxonomy, metadata structures, SEO best practices, digital content management, and project management.
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (identifying out-of-spec issues).
- Experience with workflow management tools (a plus).
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and photo editing.
- Familiarity with digital accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.0 guidelines (preferred).
- Qualities:
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a heavy workload.
- Strong attention to detail with a minimal error rate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
