About the role

DNV - Energy Systems Energy Management group is looking for an Energy Efficiency Sales Representative to join the team that is helping DTE s commercial and industrial customers save energy and money. DNV has been retained by DTE to implement its energy efficiency programs. The utility s commercial and industrial customers will be eligible for technical and financial support to make their facilities more energy efficient.

This position will be based out of our DNV office in Detroit, Michigan offering a hybrid schedule of an average of three (3) days in the office and two (2) days working remotely. Detroit Metropolitan area residents are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct proactive outreach efforts via phone, email, and other communication channels to engage potential and existing customers.
  • Respond to inbound calls and inquiries, providing detailed information about products, services, and company initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential leads, nurturing relationships to convert prospects into customers
  • Developing and presenting program presentations to spur project activity
  • Use CRM and other data management tools to track customer interactions, outreach activities, and sales metrics.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve outreach strategies and increase conversion rates.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on outreach data to measure the effectiveness of outreach campaigns and sales efforts.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company's products and services to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted advisor and resource.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align outreach efforts with marketing campaigns and strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is provided to customers.
  • Regularly update management on outreach progress, sales metrics, and event outcomes.
  • Identify and provide documentation of on-site opportunities for energy efficiency and provide follow-up to customers as required
  • Discuss technical elements of energy consuming equipment i.e., lighting, HVAC, hot water systems, building and pipe insulation, and air sealing
  • Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings and to manage current projects which may also include collaborating with Energy Engineers as required
  • When required, provide written summary reports directly to the customer, and summary reports to the client/Program Manager
  • Be able to work in a team atmosphere, and willing to collaborate on continuous improvement opportunities
  • All other duties as assigned

About you

What is Required

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the electric or natural gas utility industry, facilities management, HVAC design or sales, commercial and industrial lighting, or conservation and energy management
  • Proven experience in inside sales, customer outreach, event management, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other data management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for customer engagement and sales.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
