Job Description - Finance Principal

 

Provides Accounting support and training for all operating locations, including preparation of training documentation. Applies ERP system knowledge and utilizes Financial/Accounting expertise to navigate issues for resolution within ERP system. Leverages ERP system expertise to solve complex issues within ERP financial system to determine resolution. Point of contact for all Accounting & Finance users for assistance on ERP Accounting system. 

 

  • Experience within major ERP system, IFS Preferred
  • Experience and knowledge working in project accounting, ASC 606 preferred
  • Experience using standard cost accounting inventory system
  • Application with cost accounting (distributed expenses to final cost objectives)
  • Experience in book to subledger inventory reconciliation and resolving variances
  • Experience in book to subledger Unbilled Receivables reconciliation and resolving variances
  • Manages multiple financial functions in the organization.
  • Liaisons with senior leadership from accounting on matters of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Prepares for audits and makes certain that financial reporting is completed properly, and that all documentation follows applicable regulations (including GAAP, FASB, or SEC mandates).
  • Communicates with operations, marketing, HR, IT, and other departments on matters of internal controls and/or budget approval and ROI for specific projects.
  • May summarize the financial status of the organization; interprets asset ratios, break-even analysis reports, profit margins, operating costs, stock value (if applicable), and other metrics used in measuring fiscal stability.
  • Establishes internal controls for monitoring assets, capital investments, controlling costs, and measuring liquidity.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Associate's Degree and 8-10 years experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Account reconciliation. Balance sheet analysis. Bank reconciliation. Calculate depreciation. Financial accounting. Financial reporting. General ledger accounting. Month-end close. Quarter-end close. Revenue recognition. Spreadsheet intermediate. Year-end close. GAAP standards. Accounting software.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Oral and written communication skills. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines.
  • May lead functional teams or projects

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in accounting, CPA preferred
  • Finance / Accounting degree preferred

Physical Demands: 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel Requirements: 

  • Less than 25% travel likely.

$93,100.00/Annu - $172,900.00/Annu Employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and basic life insurance as well as pre-tax spending accounts.
