Responsibilities: Evaluate and analyze insurance applications. Assess risks based on information provided and determine appropriate coverage, limits, and premiums. Review and interpret underwriting guidelines, policy forms, and endorsements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Conduct thorough risk assessments, including analysis of loss history, safety protocols, driver qualifications, and fleet management practices. Collaborate with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and negotiate terms and conditions. Provide expert guidance and recommendations to underwriting teams and management on complex cases, coverage enhancements, and risk mitigation strategies. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.. Monitor policy renewals, endorsements, and cancellations to ensure accurate documentation and appropriate action. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other industry professionals. Requirements: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Underwriter. In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance principles, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and make sound underwriting decisions. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in insurance underwriting software and other relevant tools. Professional certifications and a degree are a plus.
