Job Description - Internal Communications and Marketing Specialist

QinetiQ US is seeking a dedicated Internal Communication Specialist to join our Marketing and Communications department. Reporting to the Employee Communications Manager, this role will be responsible for executing our employee communications and engagement strategy across all QinetiQ US channels. Collaboration with various teams, including HR, ERGs, and other functional groups, is essential for success in this role.

  • Driving Strategy Alignment: Ensure that all internal communications align with the company's strategic objectives. This includes drafting and disseminating regular updates on company goals, initiatives, and progress to ensure that employees are informed and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Cultivating Organizational Culture: Develop and execute initiatives to reinforce the company's values and promote a positive organizational culture. This may involve creating internal newsletters, organizing employee recognition programs, and facilitating communication channels for employees to share success stories and celebrate achievements.
  • Boosting Employee Engagement: Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and foster a sense of connection and belonging. This could involve managing internal communication platforms such as SharePoint and Yammer to facilitate peer-to-peer communication, organizing virtual town halls or employee forums, and soliciting feedback through surveys or focus groups to gauge employee sentiment and identify areas for improvement. 

Daily Tasks May Include:

  • Drafting and distributing internal memos, announcements, and updates on company news, events, and initiatives.
  • Collaborating with HR and ERG leaders to develop and execute communication plans for employee engagement events, such as team-building activities, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and wellness programs.
  • Monitoring internal communication channels and responding to employee inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Creating content for the company intranet, including news articles, blog posts, and multimedia content, to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Conducting regular audits of internal communication channels and materials to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with brand standards and messaging.
  • Analyzing communication metrics and feedback to assess the effectiveness of internal communication efforts and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Providing support for special projects or initiatives as assigned by the Employee Communications Manager or other departmental leaders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate communications setting or agency experience
  • Deep knowledge of AP Style
  • Experience using SharePoint and other communication platforms.
  • Experience executing employee communications strategies.
  • Highly organized with strong collaboration skills and flexibility
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
