About The Role....

The Mortgage Operations Manager is responsible for the administration and direction of the Credit Union's mortgage underwriting and processing; ensures that safe, sound and profitable mortgage loans are approved; oversees the activities of the underwriters, processors, openers and closers; performs direct supervisory duties of department staff and coordinates staff for coverage in all related areas of the department; enhances and promotes efficiencies and attains established individual, departmental and organizational goals.

What You'll Do....

• Supports the credit union's focus on member sales and service.
• Develop, manage, mentor and continually coach direct reports.
• Ensures team members actively seek out consultative sales opportunities and cross-sell opportunities and promote credit union products and services based on member needs.
• Ensures team members consistently meet or exceed overall credit union financial goals.
• Promotes and strives to create a world-class experience for members by ensuring all staff abide by NuMark Credit Union's Service Standards.
• Responsible for managing opening, processing, underwriting and closing production of assigned staff members and quality control.
• Ensures loans are moving efficiently and effectively through the mortgage process.
• Responsible for managing the closing calendar to meet production goals.
• Proactively monitor pipeline management.
• Provides consistent training for the mortgage team.
• Acts as a resource for escalated issues; resolves as needed.
• Responsible for compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations within an area of responsibility.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities You'll Need....

• Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma, (some college coursework considered helpful) and three to five years of experience in managing a mortgage operations department, covering all aspects of the loan lifecycle and compliance are required.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of various mortgage loan products, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA/VA, FHLB, Jumbo loans, and reverse mortgages, along with good organizational and verbal communication skills.
• Prior mortgage lending experience is necessary, along with strong supervisory, coaching, and technology skills.
• Knowledge of Encompass is a plus.
• The ideal candidate should have a desire to work with members and focus on their needs, maintain a professional appearance, and exhibit tact and diplomacy with a diverse staff.
