Job Description - Network and Computer Systems Administrator SME

Job Title: Network and Computer Systems Administrator SME
Job Location: Washington DC, 100% telework – May require some travel
Required Clearance: Candidate selected will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to the customer’s information.  US Citizenship is required.  Current clearance is not required, but selected individual cannot start the assignment until the customer grants the required security clearance.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced cloud-based SCCM engineer to assist in developing and delivering workstation support and solutions for a mission-critical U.S. Government program that has a rapidly growing demand for information to be securely accessible anywhere, anytime, from any device. 
The individual selected for this position will be a member of the ESA-V Network Engineering team and the primary work location will be Washington, DC with work performed remote. This individual will work with DOJ client stakeholders to improve the capability and capacity of the workstation management service to reliably meet the needs of a mobile, geo-dispersed workforce. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), cloud-based technologies and group policy. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining SCCM Infrastructure in a cloud environment and must have hands on experience with workstation software, application packaging, government security standards, and workstation security hardening is required.
You will work closely with the customer and will be the SME for the SCCM Engineering team on the following key tasks:

  • Build, install, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and other workstation management tools and workstation applications.
  • Monitor and optimize SCCM performance
  • Implement and manage Role-based access control (RBAC) and delegation
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure SCCM integration with other systems
  • Be able to troubleshoot and support Windows 10/11 Workstations and software and SCCM related issues.
  • Work with security, infrastructure, networking, and applications engineering teams to implement and maintain a workstation security strategy
  • Building and deploying software packages to workstations while staying up to date on the latest cloud based technologies
  • Identify and evaluate costs, benefits, and risks of expanding and enhancing network and desktop engineering services
  • Provide written instructions for both workstation and application usage
  • Provide weekly reporting of issues and projects
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours or modified schedule for planned and emergency work.
Education and Experience: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 12 to 15 years of prior relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 10 to 13 years of prior relevant experience.  Additional years of experience and/or relevant certifications will be considered in lieu of degree.Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience with at least 12+ years relevant experience (10+ years with a MS/MIS Degree)
  • 7+ years’ experience providing tier II, III & IV support
  • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in the design and administration of cloud based (Azure) System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) as well as end user workstation environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory Group policy as applied to workstations
  • In-depth knowledge of end user workstations and technology to support end user workstations
  • Experience with PIV and CAC authentication
  • Provide support on a M-F business hours schedule in the eastern time zone
  • Extended hour and weekend support as required by mission or emergencies.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to effectively interface with executive level to individual contributors.
  • Ability to lead support issues to a successful conclusion while updating management and senior leadership.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Candidate selected will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to the customer’s information. 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
Desired Qualifications:
  • 8 years of experience with workstation systems management systems (i.e. SCCM, Symantec Endpoint Manager, Intune, Azure, AWS etc…) administration support
  • 8 years of experience in an operations role
  • Experience with both on premise and SaaS deployments systems
  • Government contracting experience, particularly with the DOJ
  • DOJ or DOD Clearance
  • ITSM knowledge and experience, particularly with ServiceNow
  • MCSE: Mobility Certification
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating system
  • Ability to create and speak to Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

Position Details: 

  • Pay Rate / Range:______$60-$78.93__________________

The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
