Pharmacist MacDill AFB, FL Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide medication information and medication therapy guidelines to the clinical provider staff as required.
• Provide medication and healthcare related in service training to clinical provider staff on new medications on the market; appropriate use of medications; comparison of current medication therapies; and other topics as deemed appropriate by the department head.
• Provide clinical direction to pharmacy personnel as appropriate
• Consult with other specialty practitioners to provide optimal patient pharmaceutical care.
• Ensure that work areas are clean and safe according to applicable OSHA, TJC and Infection Control regulations.
• Document significant medication interactions, medication errors, and pharmacy interactions with patient medical records, and Joint Patient Safety Reporting tool.
• Conduct Medication Error and Adverse Drug Reaction reportings in accordance with Defense Health Agency Procedural Instructions (DHA-PIs), Department of the Air Force Instructions (DAFIs), Local instructions and The Joint Commission standards as appropriate.
• Facilitate medical staff drug utilization reviews (DURs) as deemed necessary and present findings to Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and Provider educational series sessions.
• Enter patient data and extract patient’s information, from a variety of sources to include MHS Genesis and NEXiA pharmacy software.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
• Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
• One year of experience within the last two years as a pharmacist.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist.
• Must be a US Citizen.
