The Discovery Tech team helps customers discover and engage with new, popular and relevant products across Amazon worldwide. We do this by combining technology, science, innovation and creativity to build new customer-facing features and experiences alongside cutting edge tools for marketers. You will be responsible for creating and building critical services that automatically generate, target, and optimize Amazon’s cross-category marketing and merchandising. Through the enablement of intelligent marketing campaigns that leverage machine-learning models, you will help to deliver the best possible shopping experience for Amazon’s customers all over the globe.
We believe in rapid development and frequent experimentation, allowing us to continuously improve the customer experience. You will have the opportunity to explore the many channels Amazon provides for customer outreach and engagement, both onsite and offsite. Great candidates for this position possess a sound understanding of computer science and a passion to make a profound impact for our customers. You will have the opportunity to apply this passion by leveraging your technical and program management skills leading large, critical projects involving distributed systems, web development, front-end/back-end design, and more. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse business and technical partners to shape our technology. You are a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and who has a track record of building strong teams that deliver results. You have a strong sense of ownership, passion to provide great customer experience and excellent troubleshooting skills even when in high-pressure situations. Your responsibilities will include:
· Owning strategic planning to achieve business objectives and define product vision, experimentation roadmap, and comprehensive balanced KPIs to measure impact and progress.
· Mentoring individual contributors , ensuring organizational health and career development within your organization
· Working closely with software managers, engineers and business stakeholders across different teams on a daily basis to define system architecture, elaborate user stories and discuss business and technical trade-offs.
· Organizing customer research and studies to inform new tech investments. We need a leader who eager to learn with us as we defining the future of Amazon’s Marketing and Merchandising. Experience with high-availability eCommerce services will be very applicable and helpful. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Seattle, WA, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent
- Strong business and technical vision; candidate has shaped a complex technical program before.
