Job Description - Project Assurance Specialist

Summary of Responsibilities The Project Assurance Specialist provides and enhances Urenco?s project assurance capabilities across a global footprint stretching over four operational sites and a number of business activities. Embedded within Design Authority the Project and Portfolio Assurer provides assurance in the delivery of capital projects. The Project Assurance Specialist is to execute the annual assurance plan, contribute to continuous improvement throughout the organization, serve as a governance subject matter expert in terms of capital project delivery and help to promote industry leading practice of the delivery of capital projects. The Project Assurance Specialist is to supervise Project Assurance Analyst(s), 1-4 direct reports. Education and Experience The ideal candidate will have a 5 years of relevant skills/experience, (see ?Specific Skills) and a bachelor?s degree or equivalent in a technical or numerical subject and have knowledge and understanding of: Project delivery and project life cycle, project controls as related to the delivery of capital projects, and various contract types. Special consideration will be given for a degree in project management, construction management, or other related field. PMI, APM, or Prince2 (or other related project controls, project management, construction management, or audit or assurance) qualification or certification. Specific Skills:

  • Analytical bias with attention to detail specifically concerning data collation, analysis and presentation
  • Excellent written presentation skills
  • Professional and competent level of all Microsoft Packages (especially Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, Project and expert Power Point skills)
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to respond to changing priorities , supporting a busy workload and multiple live projects
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Be able to communicate effectively across a wide variety of stakeholders
Job Details

  • Hybrid (majority of work may be done remotely).
  • The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM.
  • Emergency Response requirements are negotiable.
  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
  • Travel Required: 20% of the time or less as required.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.
  • Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.
Primary Functions

  • Working with Project Assurance Manager, assist in the development of the annual assurance  plan.
  • Champion and educate Urenco stakeholders about the value of project assurance.
  • Working with Project Assurance Manager, agree scope of assurance reviews, and autonomously
  • carryout assurance reviews.
  • Carryout the annual assurance plan under the direction of the Project Assurance Manager. A  fair amount of autonomy in how the annual plan is executed will be granted.
  • Up-skill and train junior members of Project Assurance team.
  • Oversee a small team (1-4) to deliver the annual assurance plan.
  • Ensure assurance reviews are conducted in accordance with established methodology.
  • Be responsible for the quality of the delivery of the team, including reports or assurance review.
  • Where external support is utilized lead, direct and ensure external support deliver in accordance  with engagement plan.
  • Autonomously converse with key project stakeholders.
  • Autonomously write reports for consumption of key project stakeholders, business lines, and  executive consumption.
  • Working with Project Assurance Manager develop KPIs to allow for determination of trends of  project delivery (improving, not improving). Contribute to capturing of KPIs.
  • Maintain personal, functional, and organizational independence and objectivity.
  • Carryout Assurance action tracker analysis to develop thematic focus on assurance activities.
  • Perform trending analysis in preparation for reviews
