About the Role

The Quality Manager is responsible for creating a quality system that lives up to our quality reputation. To achieve this – the Quality Manager leads both the Quality Assurance and the Quality Control initiatives. This includes R&D quality systems, Manufacturing quality systems & testing as well as Document control.

Essential Functions:

• Establish Quality Assurance by creating and maintaining an appropriate quality system, considering input from both ISO and FDA-CFR.
• Improve existing Quality Control processes to include best practices in a diagnostic manufacturing environment.
• Establish and maintain document control process.
• Improve documentation practices in R&D and Manufacturing.
• Train employees on quality assurance standards and processes. 
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action process to ensure continuous improvement.
• Institute and track quality metrics to demonstrate continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, organic chemistry, or related scientific field.
• Experience implementing and maintain quality systems in the diagnostics industry.
• Experience working as a quality professional in a diagnostics manufacturing environment.
• Minimal (<5%) travel required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ELISA, Activity, and / or Detection assay experience.
• Undergraduate courses in mathematics, systems management and / or business management and strong understanding of statistics and their applicability to diagnostic manufacturing.
• Master’s degree in biochemistry, organic chemistry, or related scientific field.
• Experience with Statlia or similar Statistical Process Control (SPC) software.
• American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification or demonstrated ongoing training.
• Six Sigma Certification.

Physical Requirements:

• Must wear protective equipment (e.g. goggles, gloves, masks) to protect eyes, handle hazardous materials, or to avoid inhaling dust.
• Ability to move about the lab to accomplish tasks.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
