Job Description - Marketing Coordinator / Business Development Associate

Job Location : New York, NY

Position Overview

Hoffmann Architects + Engineers is searching for an entry to mid-level marketing/business development professional to join our team in midtown Manhattan. With opportunities to participate in all aspects of marketing and sales, the Business Development Associate works closely with senior management to identify, develop, and close new business. This position partners with staff company-wide, including New York technical staff to pursue additional business with existing clients, business development staff in the other offices to identify prospects with multiple locations, and marketing staff to prepare proposal and qualification packages. At Hoffmann, close professional relationships among a smaller group of colleagues foster camaraderie, mentorship, and innovation.

The firm offers a hybrid in-office and remote work environment. As a sales-based role, this position may involve work outside normal business hours for participation in networking events, professional organizations, and other business development initiatives.

Since 1977, Hoffmann has specialized in the rehabilitation, preservation, and design detailing of facades, roofs, plazas/terraces, parking garages, and historic/landmark structures. With offices in CT, NY, and VA, Hoffmann is an award-winning specialty architectural and engineering firm that has built a reputation for excellence by resolving building exterior distress at major symbols of the country’s architectural heritage, such as the Chrysler Building, the United States Capitol building, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Smithsonian Institution.

Primary Responsibilities

Support the New York office through the following:

  • Work collaboratively with technical and marketing staff to produce winning architectural and engineering proposals.
  • Develop collateral materials for credentials packages and proposals, including project descriptions and data, resumes, service profiles, and technical approaches.
  • Coordinate with consultants for proposal and qualification packages.
  • Create presentations and graphic materials for interviews, conferences, and seminars.
  • Complete vendor qualification forms.
  • Support social media communications.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of a business development plan, including identification of target market sectors and potential clients.
  • Qualify and pursue new business based on potential revenue, profit, and timely close.
  • Establish meaningful contact with qualified leads through cold calling, emails, social networking, industry involvement, outreach, and in-person meetings.
  • Identify and participate in business/social/professional organizations and events, including tradeshows, that promote or generate business relationships.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet firm goals and objectives.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field OR
  • Equivalent combination of academic and professional experience.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The annual salary for this position in New York City generally ranges between $70,000-$120,000. The actual offered salary will be determined based on job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, performance, experience, and education. This information is provided per the New York City Human Rights Law and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the position's salary range at the time of posting.
