Large North American raw material specialty chemical company is looking to fill a critical Sales Manager position, based ideally in the Dallas, Houston, or Atlanta areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and entrepreneurial company. It’s also a solid income and career growth opportunity. Overnight travel is expected to be approximately 30-40%.
Responsibilities: Personally manage several key accounts and lead a team of existing Account Managers selling a broad range of raw material specialty chemicals (additives, surfactants, enzymes, antimicrobials, etc.) to the HI&I (Household, Industrial, and Institutional Cleaners) markets in the Southeastern USA (TX/OK to the Carolinas and South). This is a sales leadership position, helping the sales team to be successful, and driving organic growth of the business. There would be a lot of work in the field with the team making joint calls on key accounts and prospects throughout the region. The team sells on a technical and commercial level to chemists, formulators, labs, purchasing, etc. There would also be significant prospecting and new account development responsibilities for the team. Oversee the management of pricing and account strategies. Also oversee the new business and new project pipeline for the region. Examine relevant account data that is entered into the CRM program by all. Travel overnight as needed.
Requirements: 8+ years of overall experience selling raw material specialty chemicals to the HI&I markets, with at least 2 of those years leading sales teams. A college degree is required, and a technical degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline is preferred. A business degree is also good. Strong sales and communication skills, with a demonstrated track record of sales team leadership success. Strong computer skills.

Compensation: $150,000 - $170,000 base salary, commensurate with experience. Plus, annual bonus in the 20% range on average (paid quarterly). There is no cap. Generous car allowance. Excellent benefits. Opportunities for advancement.
