SUMMARY

The Sr. Director, Global Marketing is responsible for the overall development and execution of global Marketing activities, supporting the growth needs for AGC Biologics. More specifically, this includes the contribution to and support of global Business Development activities in North America, Europe and Asia. Focus is on the growth of AGC Biologics' market exposure and brand awareness and recognition by identifying, evaluating, recommending and implementing value-added marketing programs and activities, including branding, marketing communications (advertising, publications, press releases, electronic media, etc.), conference planning, internet/intranet websites, marketing collateral, promotional items, etc. Responsibility will include managing the third party budget for these activities.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, evaluate and recommend marketing strategies that promote growth, profitability and sustainability of AGC’s full service contract manufacturing business in the worldwide market. Specifically, formulate and recommend marketing communication, conference planning, promotional marketing strategies and activities that support the proscribed corporate branding/image, and support increased revenue and market share growth.
  • Leads the development and execution of the company's marketing strategic plan, which addresses critical issues in the marketing and communications of the business. The plan will set out objectives for each strategic area and outlines plans for achieving those objectives.
  • In consultation with the Chief Business Officer and Senior BD Management Team, develops and recommends an annual plan for the Marketing department. The plan will set out objectives, plans, and specific activities to be pursued in each area of responsibility. This plan will be developed in the context of the organization’s strategic and operating plans and will be directed at supporting the objectives established in those plans.
  • Makes decisions relative to the selection, promotion, utilization, retention and compensation of Marketing staff.
  • Makes presentations to the Executive Committee on Marketing strategies and activities.
  • Develops a marketing strategy that effectively markets the organization and educates the marketplace and maximizes the organization's business development efforts.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of an annual, strategic, special events calendar that ensures the efforts, resources and the BD team time is utilized in a manner that provides the greatest return to the organization. Ensures all conferences, trade shows and events are planned to capture the attention of the intended audience and the media. Manages the production of each event, ensuring all appropriate sponsorships are achieved and all details are managed in a creative, timely and cost efficient manner.
  • Develops and implements communications and media strategies that successfully deliver information and key messages to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and the general public.
  • Develops and maintains a strong and productive relationship with both print and electronic media. Ensures the organization is understood by the media and the media are interested in presenting information to the public in a manner that informs and educates them on the organization.
  • Provides ongoing media training to the management team. Ensures management has the skills and confidence to deliver appropriate messages during interviews with the media.
  • Directs market research activities in order to keep abreast of changing demographics and other relevant issues in order to evaluate marketing activities and to monitor emerging issues.
  • Ensures the development of advertising and promotional plans and manages the annual advertising and promotional budget.
  • Manages the use of external resources as they pertain to the marketing function (e.g. MarCom agency, advertising agency, printers, etc.)
  • Monitors and keeps abreast of all trends in the industry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • BA/BS degree required. University graduate degree in business, marketing, communications or other relevant and equivalent combination of education, training and expertise preferred.
  • Dynamic, hands on leader with a minimum of 10 years of proven success driving marketing in the healthcare industry; specific experience in the contract manufacturing or bio-manufacturing industry is a strong plus.
  • Experience must include strategic planning, strategic branding, communications planning and management.
  • Experience using Salesforce.com database.

 

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$194,000 - $266,750 annually

 

Fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience levels, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Benefits available to Team Members include subsidized insurance for the Team Member and designated dependents (medical, vision, dental, life and disability), eligibility to participate in the AGC Biologics 401(k) plan (including a generous matching contribution from the company and immediate vesting), vacation, sick time, and parental leave.

Team Members are also eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus commensurate to the level of the role. The payout is based on both the company’s performance and the Team Member’s performance.
