The Role

As a Lumen Senior Product Strategy Analyst, you will provide strategic analysis in support of Lumen’s public sector product organization. The initial focus of this role will be supporting Lumen’s Digital Inclusion Initiative, but it will eventually move towards other key business objectives. The analyst will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of our role in supporting public sector clients across all levels of government (federal, state, and local). This includes but is not limited to market research, financial and public policy analysis, and deal evaluation.

The senior analyst will also be responsible for understanding underlying business trends, drivers and working with stakeholders to recommend and pursue appropriate courses of action. The role will frequently work with Director / VP stakeholders and works cross functionally with sales, marketing, government affairs, and FP&A to sync on results, provide insight, and drive recommendations.

Core Responsibilities:

+ Proactively engage with leadership across the organization to communicate relevant information and develop analysis

+ Help lead underwriting of key investments and public-private partnership opportunities

+ Assess technology, macroeconomic, public policy, competitive, and industry trends that will impact Lumen and our customers

+ Play a key role in supporting the development of Lumen’s public sector strategy through market research and competitive analysis

+ Integrate multiple research sources to give a point of view or direction to change tactical positions

+ Manage the collection and analysis of relevant information concerning markets and competitors

Job Requirements:

+ 3+ years of experience working as an Analyst in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy/development, public policy; experience in telecom, and/or digital infrastructure industry a plus not necessary

+ Ability to synthesize and clearly explain complex concepts and themes to a wide range of audiences

+ General knowledge of core financial concepts

+ Team player and comfortability working with cross-functional groups and organizations across a matrixed environment

+ Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills; interest in public policy

+ Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI tools

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$63980 – $85300in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$67340 – $89780in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$70710 – $94270in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$74070 – $98760in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
