Position Summary


The VP of Manufacturing and eBOS Operations ensures we scale our eBOS business efficiently and effectively through a rapid growth cycle and, in so doing, delivers a more powerful future for U.S. renewable energy. In this role a person will make the following major contributions as the eBOS leader at this Grand Rapids, MI site:

• Lead, inspire and develop the people to ensure objectives are understood and aligned across the team. You will adjust roles for existing team members, and add new talent, as we grow.

• Align the eBOS operations* team with the sales and marketing teams to deliver for customers. *Operations includes pre-quote design and cost estimating, quoting, post-order design, production planning, material planning, manufacturing, delivery, and post-order support.

• Apply lean thinking to the business to map processes, identify and attack waste, and maximize quality.

• Lead a cohesive local work culture built on teamwork and delivering for customers.

• Integrate each local function with their corporate counterparts in our other locations.

• Participate on the cross-functional leadership team of ten functional leaders that set overall objectives, monitor the business, drives key decisions, and sets the overall tone for the business.

This leader will also focus on the manufacturing operation to bring strategy and process improvement to all our 3 plants. A heightened focus on production on time delivery with disciplined focus on metrics to drive our production teams. They will create and implement a roadmap for the growth and development of Terrasmart's capability, capacity and performance in manufacturing. This will be in alignment with product line and business strategies.

• Responsible for efficient, high quality, high-volume throughput of solar construction components to meet growing customer demands.
• Actively develops workplace culture, including lean and establishment of continuous improvement
• Directly responsible for OTIF to multiple construction projects
• Builds a cohesive and high-performing plant leadership team
• Delivers progressive improvement in SQDIP performance
• Implements an effective method for manufacturing planning & control
• Drives OEE for manufacturing & materials handling equipment
• Defines long term operations strategy including capital investment
• Creates and executes an efficient, highly detailed AOP, with contingency variables

Location (Remote/Office Work and Residence)


We follow a flexible work-in-office/work-remote blended approach for all roles where it fits the requirements, including this role. Some teams will follow a cadence of coordinated, periodic team days in the office. Also, there are one-off occasions where work-in-office is required. These decisions are made at the functional leaders' discretion. We will continue to offer work-in-office/work-remote flexibility into the future, regardless of pandemic conditions.


We expect key leaders, like this role, to reside within a normal-daily-driving-commute distance from one of our major Renewables locations for ongoing, frequent interaction with our employees and leaders. Major Renewables locations are Cincinnati, Ohio, Fort Myers, Florida and Grand Rapids, MI. Note that our eBOS products are manufactured in Grand Rapids so we have a requirement to be commutable to that location.
