Warehouseman

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouseman to join our team at POP Fishing & Marine. The Warehouseman will be responsible for efficiently managing the flow of goods within the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory records, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Receiving and Storing Goods: Receive incoming shipments, unload trucks and containers, and inspect goods for damages or discrepancies. Safely and efficiently store items in designated warehouse locations.

2. Picking and Packing Orders: Retrieve items from inventory based on order requirements. Ensure accurate picking and packing of products for shipment, paying close attention to order details and quantity.

3. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems. Conduct regular inventory counts to reconcile discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.

4. Shipping and Receiving: Prepare outgoing shipments for delivery or pickup. Pack items securely, complete shipping documents, and coordinate with carriers for timely delivery. Receive returned items, inspect for damages, and process returns according to company policies.

5. Warehouse Organization: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from safety hazards. Properly label and store goods to maximize space utilization and facilitate easy retrieval.

6. Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently. Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or damage.

7. Quality Control: Ensure that all goods meet quality standards before storage or shipment. Report any quality issues or damages to the appropriate personnel.

8. Safety Compliance: Adhere to company safety policies and procedures at all times. Identify and address potential safety hazards in the warehouse environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in warehouse operations preferred.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
