Northwest AEA is seeking speech-language assistants to serve early childhood and elementary students in the Sioux City area. About the Agency


Northwest AEA provides special education and school improvement services to 34 public school districts and 32 accredited, non-public schools. The agency serves 45,000 students and more than 5000 educators in a 10-county area of Northwest Iowa (Lyon, Osceola, Sioux, O'Brien, Plymouth, Cherokee, Woodbury, Ida, Monona, and Crawford). 


 


Our headquarters is located at 5800 Discovery Blvd., near the Sioux Gateway Airport in Sioux City, with regional offices in Cherokee, Denison, Le Mars, Onawa, and Sioux Center.

Job Summary 


This role, in partnership with educators, families and communities, integrates provision of certain language, articulation, voice and fluency activities as assigned by the supervising speech-language pathologist.


 


Qualifications


Education: High school diploma


 


Essential Functions:
 



  • Provide prescribed speech and language practice to designated students under the direct supervision of appropriate authorized speech-language pathologists.

  • Follow treatment plans designated by the supervising speech-language pathologist using appropriate materials.

  • Report and document student performance to the supervising speech language pathologist.

  • Meet with the supervising speech language pathologist as directed by state guidelines to discuss student progress, receive direction for upcoming sessions, and exchange information.

  • Use available technology to complete and disseminate appropriate documentation of activities and results.

  • Other duties as assigned.
