Job Description - 1542 - C5ISR Systems Scientist I - IV

Sigma Defense is seeking a C5ISR Systems Scientist with 5+ years of technical experience in support of RF communications and/or communications networks to join our team in Fayetteville, NC.

This is a contingent position that is pending award of contract. This means that the position is subject to the successful awarding of a contract and will be confirmed once the contract is finalized. The candidate selected for this role will be offered the position on the condition that the contract is awarded to our organization. Anticipated award date: Summer 2026.

  • 1 - 10 years of experience in C5ISR systems.
  • 5+ years of technical experience in support of RF communications and/or communications networks.
  • Experience in Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of C5ISR requirements.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, or related field of study.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.

Mandatory Certifications:

  • Working towards the following certifications within one and a half years after assuming duties:
  • Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) (Previously known as Certified Software Engineering Professional (CSEP), or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD).
  • Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD).
  • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA).
  • Sun Certified Professional (SCP)
  • Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP)
  • CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

Essential Job Responsibilities (not all-inclusive)

  • Utilize scientific and mathematical principles to solve structural, mechanical, technical, and systemic problems.
  • Design and plan tools, systems, structures, processes, and technologies.
  • Analyze and identify technical challenges and develop solutions to make necessary adjustments.
  • Research new Satellite Communication and Network System technologies, materials, and methodologies to improve existing systems or create new ones.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources and designs experiments.
  • Conduct tests and experiments to evaluate the performance and safety of prototypes.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to convey ideas and provide instruction.
  • Provide support to the primary test engineer to develop test procedures and assist the Government in the preparation of test plans and test reports in support of SOCS IPT customers’ network technology/equipment integration.
  • Operate an integration facility to do technology insertion, product evaluation, and integration of commercial equipment into transit cases, fixed plants, trailers, and mobile vehicles/platforms.
  • Provide test and evaluation support services for C5ISR systems, subsystems, and/or equipment.
  • Establish and document integration/production procedures that include establishing system baseline configurations and recording/documenting system configurations, material ordering, integration, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Allow for quick reconfiguration and expansion into new product lines.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $140,000 annually.
